Start as a motion ride. Transform into a flying theater. HEXaFLITE® Fusion combines full 6-DOF motion with show-integrated Lift & Tilt, making the journey into flight part of the show.

HEXaFLITE® Fusion is Simtec’s next-generation flying theater concept, combining the motion-ride character of FUNRIDE™ OCS with the iconic flight sensation of HEXaFLITE®.
Conventional flying theater concepts are typically built around one main flight position: guests are brought into position, the screen fills their view, and the flight begins. HEXaFLITE® Fusion expands the show beyond that single moment — and lets the experience move through different states.
The show begins with the platform in a horizontal motion-ride position, where 6-DOF motion already brings the first physical dynamics into the experience. From there, the Tilt drive turns the complete 6-DOF motion platform into part of the choreography — moving it smoothly toward the vertical flying theater position, returning it toward horizontal or holding selected intermediate angles, while the 6-DOF motion continues without interruption. Together, continuous 6-DOF motion and platform tilt become a new creative show element: a smooth take-off, a sudden drop, a steep dive, or a powerful climb during the show.
Single-level loading allows guests to board at floor level while the platform is in its horizontal loading position—without massive staircases or complex multi-level boarding structures.
Because the best spot in a flying theater belongs to the passengers. One unified motion platform keeps the audience aligned with the heart of the dome or LED screen, giving passengers the best possible views while reducing staffing complexity and supporting high hourly throughput.
In HEXaFLITE® Fusion, Lift & Tilt is more than the movement into the flying theater position. The entire platform can tilt forward and backward as part of the choreographed show sequence— creating take-offs, dives and dynamic changes of perspective. Loading-position and transition scenes can now become part of the attraction narrative—enabling creative reveals, narrative pre-shows, and IP-driven moments.
The media environment is no longer limited to one direction. With seat rows that can tilt the audience’s view upward, Fusion can connect front screens, dome surfaces, and ceiling-integrated visuals into a spatial media environment guests move through — not just look at.
Fusion does more than gentle flight motion. By combining high-performance 6-DOF platform motion with show-integrated Lift & Tilt, the system creates a broader range of physical sensations — from grounded motion-ride dynamics to powerful flying theater moments.
A flying theater is built around one powerful promise: to make guests feel as if they are leaving the ground. HEXaFLITE® Fusion takes this promise further — not by replacing the proven HEXaFLITE concept, but by expanding what can become part of the show.
The engineering challenge was to keep the core strengths of HEXaFLITE® — floor-level boarding, one unified motion platform, central seating, and high-performance 6-DOF motion — while turning the movement into flight into an active show element. In Fusion, the Lift & Tilt movement is no longer only the transition into the flying theater position. It can be choreographed together with 6-DOF platform motion, seat-row tilt, media, sound, and special effects.
The result is a flying theater system in which the transformation itself becomes part of the ride. Motion and perspective can evolve throughout the experience: from horizontal motion-ride scenes to angled show moments, overhead reveals, and full flying theater sequences. Every movement is engineered to support the cinematic environment — not as a separate effect, but as part of one coherent attraction system.
HEXaFLITE® Fusion is designed for attraction concepts that want more than a fixed flying theater setup. Its flexible motion architecture allows each installation to be adapted around the intended show flow, media environment, building geometry, and operational requirements — whether the project is planned as a flagship anchor attraction or as a retrofit within an existing venue.
Depending on the creative concept, Fusion supports classic projection-based or LED dome screens, extended media surfaces, overhead reveal moments or ceiling-directed scenes. Each media configuration is developed around the desired experience, available space and technical framework.
Because Fusion uses motion across different platform positions, the motion envelope, movement range and show choreography are defined specifically for each project. Simtec coordinates the motion system with the media environment, safety concept and building requirements to create a technically coherent and operable attraction.
Simtec also offers HEXaFLITE® Fusion as a turnkey attraction with an integrated AV and show package. This can include a projection-based or LED dome, immersive audio, media servers, show control, and special effects, as well as film production through selected partners. Simtec coordinates these elements with the motion system and provides installation, commissioning, and on-site operator and maintenance training.
