Each dark ride concept places different demands on the ride vehicle. How guests approach a scene, change perspective, or physically experience a transition can be just as important as the route itself.
Our dark ride portfolio covers a broad range of vehicle-based attractions. WAYFINDER™ provides a flexible track-guided architecture for scenic, media-based and interactive dark rides. HEXaPOT® takes vehicle dynamics significantly further, combining high-performance motion with a high-capacity vehicle for ambitious E-ticket attractions. The architecture and motion possibilities differ, but the engineering principle is the same: the ride system should support the intended experience rather than define its limits.

As a dark ride manufacturer and system supplier, Simtec combines in-house engineering across mechanics, motion, controls, and software with project-specific ride system integration. Our dark ride vehicles are developed as part of a complete technical architecture in which movement, safety functions, and show technology are designed to work together from the outset.
That engineering depth extends beyond the ride vehicle itself. Ride control and motion can be coordinated with show control, media, special effects, and interactive systems, while defined interfaces connect the Simtec system with the surrounding attraction. The objective is not simply to supply individual components, but to make the technical disciplines behave as one coherent and controllable system.
Assembly, system integration, and validation take place at our facilities in Braunschweig, Germany. Complex vehicle-based and track-guided ride systems can be set up and tested before shipment, allowing motion behavior, controls, safety functions, and external interfaces to be evaluated under controlled conditions before installation on site.
For projects that require a wider scope, Simtec can deliver the complete technical dark ride attraction. Our own ride technology and control systems form the core, while AV technology, media production, gameplay, or other interactive content can be provided by selected specialist partners. Simtec brings these disciplines together within one coordinated system architecture and manages the technical interfaces between them.
The delivery scope can continue through installation, commissioning, acceptance support, and operator training. Testing and certification support are integrated into the engineering process according to the applicable project and regulatory requirements, while international teams in Germany, the USA, and China support project execution and service in their respective regions.
Long-term operation is part of the engineering approach from the beginning. Maintenance concepts, diagnostics, spare-parts support, and project-specific upgrades help keep the dark ride system serviceable and adaptable throughout its operational lifecycle.
