Simtec at Jugend forscht 2026: Supporting Young Innovators in Braunschweig

Philipp Hellwig Back on the Jury in Braunschweig

On 27 February, the regional Jugend forscht competition will once again take place in Braunschweig — and we are delighted that Philipp Hellwig will be supporting the event as a jury member. Jugend forscht, organized by Stiftung Jugend forscht e.V. and supported locally by Die Braunschweigische Stiftung, plays an important role in encouraging students to explore science, technology and innovation. The level of curiosity, dedication and technical understanding shown by the participants continues to impress us every year.

The Simtec Special Prize 2025: “German Innovation in Motion”

Last year, we awarded the Simtec Special Prize “German Innovation in Motion” to Leonard, Mathis and Tim from Neue Schule Wolfsburg for their outstanding project “3D multi-stage rocket with sensor-based flight monitoring.” Their technical approach and innovative thinking left a strong impression on the jury. As their prize, the three young researchers received a flight in our Dornier 228 Full-Flight-Simulator — an experience they have already redeemed!

Looking Forward to This Year’s Projects

We are excited to see which projects will be presented at this year’s regional competition. Initiatives like Jugend forscht are essential in nurturing the next generation of scientists and engineers — and we are proud to play a small part in supporting that mission year after year.
