Information about the collection of personal data

(1) In the following we inform about the collection of personal data when using our website. Personal data are all data that are personally referable to you, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses, user behavior.

(2) The entity responsible according to Art. 4 para. 7 EU Data Protection Basic Regulation (DS-GVO) is Simtec Simulation Technology GmbH, Hermann-Blenk-Str. 52, 38108 Braunschweig, E-Mail: info@simtec.de (see our imprint).

You can contact our data protection officer at datenschutz@simtec.de or at our postal address with the addition "Der Datenschutzbeauftragte".

(3) When you contact us by e-mail or a contact form, the data you provide (your e-mail address, if applicable your name and your telephone number) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. We delete the data gathered in this context after storage is no longer necessary, or limit further processing if a legal obligation exists to retain such data.

(4) If we make use of contracted service providers for individual functions of our services offered or would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail about the respective processes below. In doing so, we also specify the criteria defined with respect to the storage period.

(5) In case of online applications the data transferred and uploaded by you will be processed for conducting the application procedure. Your data will not be made available to third parties unless you have explicitly agreed or a legal obligation exists to do so. After completion of the application procedure, in case of your entering a contractual employment relationship your data will continue to be used in this context. Otherwise your data will be deleted three months after the conclusion of the application procedure, unless legal obligations prevent this or your data is still needed for evidence purposes in the context of a legal dispute.

Your rights

(1) You have the following rights towards us with regard to personal data concerning you:

  • Right of information
  • Right to rectification or erasure,
  • Right to limitation of processing,
  • Right of opposition to the processing,
  • Right to data transferability.

(2) You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.

Collection of personal data when visiting our website

(1) When using the website for information purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which are technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to guarantee stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f DS-GVO):

  • date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • the amount of data transferred in each case
  • Website from which the request originates
  • Browser
  • Operating system and its interface
  • Language and version of the browser software.

(2) In addition to the aforementioned data, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard disk attributed to the browser you use and through which certain information flows to the entity that sets the cookie (here by us). Cookies can not run programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make the internet offer more user-friendly and effective overall.

b) Transient cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. This includes the session cookies in particular. These store a so-called session ID, with which different requests of your browser can be assigned to the common session. This will allow your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

c) Persistent cookies are deleted automatically after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in the security settings of your browser.

d) You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes and, for example, refuse the acceptance of third party cookies or all cookies. Please note that you may not be able to use all functions of this website.

e) We use cookies to identify you for follow-up visits if you have an account with us. Otherwise you will have to log in again for each visit.

Use of Google Analytics

(1) This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. "("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files stored on your computer allowing an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, Google will reduce your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with further services associated with website and Internet use.

(2) The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

(3) You may prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the corresponding settings in your browser software, however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

(4) This website uses Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymize()". As a result, IP addresses are further processed in abbreviated form, so that a direct reference to an individual person can be ruled out. As far as the data collected about you is personal, the reference will be excluded immediately and thus the personal data will be deleted immediately.

(5) We make use of Google Analytics for analyzing the use of our website and enabling us to improve the site on a regular basis. The statistics gained from this enable us to improve our offer and making it more interesting for you as a user. For exceptional cases in which personal data is transmitted to the USA Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Art. 6 Abs. 1 S. 1 lit. f DS-GVO.

(7) This website also uses Google Analytics for a stream of visitors analysis across multiple devices performed by means of a user-ID. You can deactivate the analysis of your use across multiple devices in your user/customer account settings under "Meine Daten/my data“, "persönliche Daten/personal data“.

Use of Social Media Plug-Ins, Widgets and Applications

(1) Currently, we make use of the following Social-Media-Plug-Ins: Facebook, Twitter, Xing, LinkedIn. For this, we apply the so-called two-click-solution. This means that upon visiting our site, on principle no personal data is passed on towards the providers of the plug-ins initially. You can identify the provider of the plug-in by the marker on the box above its initials or the logo. We provide you with the opportunity to communicate directly with the provider of the plug-in via the button. Only when you click and thus activate the marked field, the provider of the plug-in receives the information that you have accessed the related webpage of our online services offered. In addition to this, the data as stated in "Collection of personal data when visiting our website" is transmitted. In the cases of Facebook and Xing the respective providers state in Germany that the IP-address is rendered anonymous immediately after retrieval. By means of the activation of the plug-in you transfer personal data to the respective plug-in provider which is stored there (in case of US-American providers within the USA). Since the plug-in provider retrieves data via cookies especially, we recommend deleting all cookies via the security settings of your browser before clicking the grey box.

(2) We have no influence concerning the data retrieved or the processing of data, nor are we aware of the complete scope of data retrieval, the purposes of processing or the storage periods. We have no information regarding the deletion of data retrieved by the plug-in provider, either.

(3) The plug-in provider stores the data concerning you as usage profiles and uses the data for purposes related to advertising, market analysis and/or needs-based design of his website. Such evaluation activities are performed especially (also for users who are not logged in) for the presentation of needs-based advertising and in order to inform other users of the social media network of your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise this right you need to turn to the respective plug-in provider. By means of the plug-ins we offer you the opportunity to interact with other users and social media so we can improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user. (4) The data will be passed on regardless of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in at the plug-in provider, your data collected with us is directly attributed to your existing account at the plug-in provider. When you click the activated button and e.g. link to the page, the plug-in provider saves this information as part of your user account and informs your contacts in public. We recommend to regularly log out after using a social network and especially before activating the button in order to avoid the addition to your account profile at the plug-in provider.

AddThis-Bookmarking

(1) Our websites also contain AddThis-plug-ins. These plug-ins enable you to set bookmarks or share interesting content with other users. By means of the plug-ins we offer you the opportunity to interact with the social networks and other users so that we can improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user. Legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is Art. 6 Abs. 1 S. 1 lit. f DS-GVO.

(2) Via these plug-ins your internet browser establishes a direct connection with the servers of AddThis and, as applicable, the chosen social network- or bookmarking service. The recipients receive the information that you have accessed the related website of our online-presence as well as the data as stated under "Collection of personal data when visiting our website". When you send content of our website to social networks or bookmarking services, a connection between visiting our website and your user profile with the respective network can be established. We neither have influence on the data retrieved and the data processing, nor do we have knowledge about the complete scope of data retrieval, the purposes of processing or the storage intervals. Also we have no information regarding the deletion of the data retrieved on behalf of the plug-in provider.

Linking of YouTube-Videos

(1) We have linked YouTube-videos into our online offer which are stored on  www.YouTube.com and which can be started directly from our website. [These videos are all linked in the „extended data protection mode“, i. e. no data concerning you as a user is transmitted to YouTube unless you play the videos. Only when you play the videos the data stated in section 2 is transmitted. We have no influence on this data transmission.]

(2) By visiting the website YouTube receives the information that you have visited the respective sub-page of our website. Additionally, data as stated under "Collection of personal data when visiting our website" is transferred. This takes place regardless of whether YouTube offers a user account into which you are logged in or no user account exists. If you are logged into Google, your data is directly attributed to your account. If you wish to avoid the attribution to your YouTube profile, you have to log out before activating the button.
